View February 2006: Installation of 16 foot bronze sculpture by Orla de Bri at the top of Grafton Street   View artist's work

The Grafton Street
location has been earmarked by the Dublin City Arts Office and Dublin City Council as a temporary sculpture site.  Working with the Solomon Gallery, Dublin, the strategy is to change the sculptures every six months.  Last June, Sophie Ryder's large bronze 'Lady Hare & Dog' was the first sculpture to be installed and was warmly received by Dubliners and critics alike.

Orla de Bri's sculpture entitled 'Quiet Mind' is a 16ft pyramid shape bronze in a blue patina with a crouched figure which sits in a polished cut-out section of the pyramid. Sitting among the hustle and bustle of Grafton Street, this pensive figure is sitting quietly reflecting on life.

Orla is also working towards a major solo exhibition entitled Shadow at the Solomon which opens on
March 6th 2006.
