Born in London in 1946, Geoghegan attended Worthing College of Art, Sussex before graduating from Chelsea School of Art, London in 1968. He decided to settle in Ireland in 1971 and moved to Blessington, Co Wicklow, the village his father had originally emigrated from. He currently lectures at National College of Art & Design, Dublin and also teaches at the Burren School of Art.

Trevors previous exhibition featured new and intimate views of Geoghegan’s signature Irish landscapes of Wicklow and the West of Ireland, alongside scenes from continental Europe.

Over the past few years Geoghegan’s style and brushwork have become looser and freer than before. Gone are the photo-realist tendencies in favour of a much more fluid style, enabling Trevor to capture the infinite possibilities of light and shade and its effects on the landscape.
