James Hanleys portrait of An Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, was unveiled last week at the Royal Hibernain Academy Annual Exhibition 2004.

Hanley has emerged as one of the country’s most prominent portraitists.  Commissions have included a painting of the Irish Olympic gold medallist, Mr Ronnie Delany, for the National Gallery’s collection, and the late Maureen Potter for the Gaiety Theatre. 

The portrait of An Taoiseach will be one of the 450 works which will be on display at the RHA’s 174^th Annual Exhibition at its gallery in Ely Place, Dublin from Tuesday 20^th of April to May 22^nd, 2004.

James Hanley is due to have his first solo exhibition with the Solomon Gallery from the 2^nd to the 17^th of November 2004.
