William Crozier
Born 1930

William Crozier was born in Glasgow, of Irish descent, in 1930 and studied at the Glasgow School of Art.  He has continued to travel extensively throughout his life, but always maintains a studio in West Cork and in Hampshire.  Crozier taught at Bath Academy of Art and at the Central School of Art, before taking the post of Head of Fine Art at Winchester School of Art.  He is a member of Aosdána and was elected Professor Emeritus at Winchester School of Art in 1987.  A retrospective exhibition of his work was held at the Crawford Gallery of Art, Cork in 1990 and later toured to Limerick, Galway and the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin. His work is represented in numerous collections worldwide, including Copenhagen Museum of Modern Art, Dallas Museum of Modern Art, Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Gdansk National Museum, Poland, Victoria & Albert Museum, London, National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Canada, Warsaw National Museum and the Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Dublin.
