SOLOMON FINE ART
"In October, the Solomon Gallery will close the doors of its gallery space in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre after 28 years of business. Yet, when one door closes, another opens and I am delighted to move the gallery forward under the new SOLOMON FINE ART banner.
My colleague Tara and I will continue to represent and promote over a dozen fine Irish contemporary artists and host exhibitions up to four times a year in the prestigious venue of the Merrion Hotel, a historic building renowned for its spectacular collection of 19th and 20th Century Art. We also intend to mount several outdoor sculpture exhibitions, including a major show in May 2010 at a truly spectacular venue (to be announced)!
In addition to our regular exhibition programme, Tara and I will continue to develop the consulting aspect of the business. This involves advising collectors, sourcing artworks for clients (either through privately brokered deals or auction), bidding for clients at auction, maintaining corporate collections, arranging special commissions, printing publications and doing valuations - in fact, the same services we have been supplying for many years.
While it will be very nostalgic for us to leave the South William Street premises, it will be equally exciting for us to embark on the launch and operation of SOLOMON FINE ART. It is hard to believe that since 1981 we have mounted over 350 exhibitions at the gallery and I am honoured and proud to have worked with so many talented Irish and international artists in the past.
I would like to thank all those who have supported us over the years and look forward to continuing being of service to you in the months and years ahead."
