Queen Elizabeth Unveils Anthony Scott Sculpture

Irish National Stud, Kildare

On the third day of Queen Elizabeth II's four-day State Visit to Ireland, she travelled to the National Stud in Kildare.

The Queen indulged her passion for horse racing by meeting with Irish representatives of the National Stud this morning.  She also unveiled a sculpture dedicated to the champion thoroughbred racehorse Sea the Stars, which was designed by Anthony Scott.

Afterwards, the Queen left to make a private visit to Gilltown Stud near Kilcullen, Co Kildare.

Sculptor Anthony Scott spoke to Her Majesty at the unveiling of his sculpture. 'She called it 'ingenious', he said, blushing.
