Solomon Fine Art is delighted to present an exhibition of sculpture by artist Tim Morris. Boxcars is an installation of over 200 unique bronze structures which the artist has been creating since 2020. Conjuring images of transport, trade and travel these Boxcars sit in wait, stationary yet charged with history, intrigue and anticipation.
Constructed of discarded corrugated cardboard and cast in bronze, Morris began building boxcars during lock-down. The project, initiated to occupy the artist and to express a sense of ‘waiting’ during that prohibitive time has continued, with some boxcars being created while traveling, most recently during a road trip across Europe to North Africa. Morris has since created over 200 of these unique, toy-like sculptures which he will bring together for this, his first exhibition at Solomon.
