In this much anticipated solo exhibition, his first in four years, Comhghall Casey presents a new body of masterful studies in oil which observe in detail the extraordinary qualities of ordinary items.
Casey’s intimate and often nostalgic still-lives celebrate everyday objects ranging from blocks of cheese to beach toys which are singled out and meticulously observed. His compositions are universally simple, where the object is placed centrally against a neutral background, amplifying it’s presence and highlighting the artist’s skill and spectacular attention to detail.
