BRIDGET FLANNERY: Shorelines

2 - 24 October 2020

Solomon Fine Art is delighted to host a solo exhibition of new work by artist Bridget Flannery.  The highly- textured, abstract paintings in this, the artist’s first exhibition at Solomon are influenced by the tones, shapes and silences of the landscape & seascape in all its forms.

Flannery’s paintings emerge from her engagement with the natural world, expressing the character of place as well as her memories, feelings and experiences. Her paintings, while abstract, have an organic relationship to sea, sky and land. Using acrylic, pastel, and collage on wood surfaces, the paintings investigate colour, form and texture.

Born in Cork and graduating from Crawford College of Art & Design in 1981, Bridget Flannery has since held numerous exhibitions throughout Ireland and Europe including solo exhibitions at the Cross Gallery, Dublin, Fenderesky Gallery, Belfast and the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin.  Public collections include the Office of Public Works State Art Collection, Crawford Municipal Gallery, University Collage Cork, The Cork Opera house, IBEC Dublin, Bank of Ireland, Four Seasons Hotel Group, Museum of Fine Art, Latvia and various private collections.
