In this captivating body of new work Climent focuses on the intuitive choreography of nature, translating the slow and discreet rhythms of trees, flora and landscapes into vibrant, light-filled compositions. Appropriately titled Heliotropism—after the natural phenomenon where plants instinctively turn to follow the sun—the exhibition serves as an exploration of light, growth, and constant movement.
As Ireland’s leading art critic Cristín Leach says: “following on from a period of more structured painting, there is a deliberate opening and unfolding in these canvases. Petal-shapes bloom as they signal his intuitive faith in the idea of transformation through evolution and regrowth. His works have long offered a mediation on life, making, and being. These paintings embrace and make visual his understanding of the possibilities of change.”
