Overview

The paintings of Leah Beggs are inspired by memory and journeys through the Connemara landscape.  Although the subject matter can be recognised as landscape, it has an abstract quality to it as she tries to capture and portray the climatic qualities of a certain place at a certain point in time. Solomon Fine Art  hosted Beggs' third solo show with the gallery in 2019.

Leah graduated from Dún Laoghaire College of Art & Design in 1996 with a Diploma in Fine Art. Her work forms part of various Irish collections including The Office of Public Works for whom she developed ten pieces which hang in the National Concert Hall, Dublin and Department of An Taoiseach respectively.

Her work forms part of various Irish collections including Savills, The Doyle Hotel Collection, An Garda Siochana HQ, Office of the Revenue Commissioners, An Bord Pleanála, Microsoft Irish Art Collection, Deloitte (Ireland), Charleville Hotel, Rathmines and the Stephens Hall Hotel in Leeson Street.

Originally from Dublin, she currently lives and works in Connemara, Co. Galway.
